Frilly Town.

Hello and how are ya?!??

Soooo, my precious baby girl had a birthday over the weekend.  She's now a fully functional eight year old.

I tried to convince her that she was turning seven again this year, but apparently she doesn't appreciate repeating birthdays as much as I do.

I think I was twenty-eight for three years, at least ;-)

All this girly party planning and togetherness, has me fully stuck in Frilly Town.

We're talkin' twirly skirts, sparkle shoes, nail polish and bling rings---so when Oozak's latest challenge turned out to be Anything Goes with Ribbon, Lace and Pearls, I was in crafty hog heaven!!

Here's what I came up with...

I colored up one of my all time fave The Greeting Farm stamps, Stella

She looks so much like my girl!!

Same do---same chubby face :-)

The background and ribbon were colored up with a bit of Dusty Concord Distress Ink.

I'm soooooo feelin' the purple!

I stamped a simple sentiment on the inside.

And here's the close-up...

Are you feelin' the call of your ribbon, lace and pearls??  If so, grab your stash and whip up something puuurrrrty to link up :-)

OH!!  And just a heads up, Oozak is currently smack dab in the middle of a Design Team Call!  If you wanna play, hop on over and cha-cha-check it out!!

Oh, Hoppy Day!!

Hiya, Peeps!!  I hope your Easter Holiday was a 'hoppy' one!

Mine was wonderful

I had amazing opportunities to explain the true meaning of Easter with all three of my children at different times.  It truly is a wonder to see them each grow spiritually and come to understand the gift of grace we've been given and celebrate each Easter.

God is good!!!

Today, I have a fun, Easter-inspired card to share with you :-)  Easter.  That's the newest challenge theme over on The Octopode Factory's challenge blog!

For my card, I've colored up Easter Wilma and Walnut the bunny.  How sweet are they??

This whole card was inspired by none other than everyone's favorite neon, sugar-covered Easter treat!  Yep, the bright colors are totally reminiscent of a full-on Peep-A-Thon ;-)

All colorful---all the time!!

Aaaaand, here's the close-up!  How much do I love this lime-tastic hair??  I'll definitely be playing around with new and fabulously colorful hair hues :-)

Okey-doke!!  That's it from this peanut gallery.  Now, head on over and check out the rest of the DT inspiration and get hoppin' on an Easter creation of your very own!

xx.

Spring. Sprang. Sprung.

Good Morning!!

Now that Spring has officially sprung,  I've been seeing all sorts of fabulous bright colors all over Bloglandia.   It's lovely.

Have you had time to put a little spring into your crafty time??

Weeeeeelll, let me help you out with some amazing inspiration :-)  Oozak's latest challenge is Anything Goes w/ Spring, so it's the perfect time to get your spring on!!

For my card, I've colored up the skunk from Lily's Woodland Creatures set, and I LOVE her!!  You can find her in The Octopode Factory store

I was also feeling the call of my sewing machine, so I stitched up a fun, quilt-inspired background.

Here's a close-up of skunk.  I've colored her up with Copic markers, and you can find them in the Oozak store HERE.

I seriously love this time of year!!  I can't wait to see what you guys come up with.  Now, go GET SPRUNG.

Or springy ;-)

Spring-tastic??

Yep.  Getcha Spring ON!!

Mary Had A Little Lamb.

Hiya!!

I gotta say, I'm a serious fan of eggs for breakfast.  Especially the chocolate covered peanut butter kind.

True story ;-)

In honor of my love of crafting, eggs and chocolate---I bring you a fun little crafty project that perfectly incorporates all three...papier-mâché treat eggs!

These little eggs are fun to make and absolutely fun to crack open!!

I've decorated mine with some vintage ephemera, glitter and a generous spritz of some Lindys Stamp Gang spray mists.

To make poppin' these lovelies open a bit easier, I've included an easy open feature---strings!!  It works kinda like a gum wrapper, just pull the string and crack those suckers open.

I've colored up Saturated Canary's 'Easter Dress' and added a nice little tag to the string.  I'm so in love with her fab braids!

And maybe I was swayed by the many years of people singing 'Mary Had A Little Lamb' to me, but I had to give this pretty girl a little lamb of her very own, so I colored up Bo from 'Lily, Bo and Peep'

Soooo, even tho' I'm sad to see them go, I've had the best time creating these eggy little treats.  They were a seriously low cost, easy to make project with a big pay-off.  My FAVE!!

If you wanna see how they came together, check out the full-length feature tut over on the Saturated Canary YouTube channel HERE.

Now, get crackin'!!

It Ain't Easy Being Green.

Good Morning!!  I hope you have a FAB weekend lined up!

I've got tons of projects in the works and a nice little nap scheduled ;-)

If you happen to carve a bit of crafty time out for yourself, hop on over to The Octopode Factory's Challenge Blog and check out the latest challenge---GREEN!!

In honor of St. Patty's Day, of course.

I've colored up Lily's Whimsical Mermaid for my card.  How fishy fab is she??

The sentiment is a lovely Frida Kahlo quote and can be found in all it's glory on Quote Sheet 1.

A few splatters of a shimmery mist over a Dylusions base gave me a perfectly watery and bubble-tastic background for her.

Aaaand, of course, I had to give her a bit of scaly texture around her gorgeous eyes.  I was going for an iridescent feel.  LOVE how it came out.

Ok, my guys and gals, have a wonderful weekend and go getcha CRAFT ON!!

G.L.A.M.O.R.O.U.S.

Hiya, Peeps!!  Have you been over to The Octopode Factory lately??

Lily has posted new Spring images with inspiration from the DT, and the current challenge is Hollywood.

As in, Lights, Camera, Action!!

Glam.

Paparazzi.

I totally dig Zombie Betty :-)  So glamorous!!

For a zombie.

And the star punchinella I picked up from Gauche Alchemy could possibly be my favorite thing.

Like, ever.

Soooo, if you're feelin' like you wanna get your GLAM on, there's still a few more days left to play along!!
