A Hop With May Arts And Epiphany Crafts!

Hello and welcome to my stop on the hop with May Arts and Epiphany Crafts!  If you've stumbled along my post first, hop on back over to May Arts---and don't forget to leave comments for a chance to win some crafty goodness...

Now, on with the makes!  Here's what I've come up with...

One of my favorite ways to use ribbon, is to create a fabric cover for a mini album.

This particular book cover was created by layering several lengths of the 2" Burlap/Cotton Blend ribbon in white in a crosshatch pattern, and adding machine stitching in a contrasting black thread.

The Chevron Bubble Caps by Epiphany Crafts make the perfect colorful embellishment!  I love the ombre look I was able to achieve.

And that's the cover!  Super clean and graphic.  I love this geometric look!!

May Arts Hops With Authentique and Imagine Crafts!

Good Morning!!

Welcome to my little corner of the blogosphere as we jump headlong into day 4 of hoppin'.  Today, I get to share a sweet and summery project I've created with a combination of  goodies from three amazing companies---May Arts, Authentique and Imagine Crafts :-))  Kinda fitting to pay homage to a summertime adventure as we transition into cooler temps, no??

Ok, onto the goods!!

This mini was completely inspired by the summery color palette in the Radiant collection by Authentique.  It's packed full of bright colors and practically screams, 'Here Comes The Sun'!

I've covered some of the paper with May Arts 4 inch burlap wired ribbon in the Light Natural color to add a bit of fun texture to my cover.

A quick dip into Golden Glitz Delicata ink gave a lovely sparkle to UmWowStudio chippies.  I love how they add just a touch of shine.

Ok guys, be sure to check back in a bit for a peek at the inside of my book.  For now, hop on over and visit Mallika to see the rest of today's lineup, and don't forget to check out the inspiration from days 1-3 by hopping back to May Arts!  Remember to comment on each of the DT's posts for a chance to win one of THREE prizes!!

Here's today's posts from IMAGINE Crafts:

And from Viva Las VegaStamps!:

If you're just joining us on the Mixed Media Blog Hop, here' the links to the previous days posts: Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday   ***Blog Hop Hint – if you click on a link that takes you to a page saying something like, “Sorry this page cannot be found” just click on the header at the top of the blog (usually a picture or the blog’s name) and it will take you to that blog’s most recent post. That post *should* be our hop. If not, you can probably scroll down a short way to find the hop post.

And now, on with the goods!!  Here's what I came up with...

I've really been diggin' fabric lately, so I wanted to see how a few of the lovely Memento Luxe inks played with muslin.  I just dabbed some of the Rose Bud and Dandelion inks onto a  plastic plate, added a touch of water and dropped it on!  The colors stayed true and I LOVE the bits of orange that was created where the two mixed.

To jazz up this simple embroidery hoop, I've given it a gentle whitewash with some watered down white paint and stamped it here and there with the Waybill/Invoice Background stamp in StazOn Jet Black ink.  I also took a few of the muslin scraps and stamped it with the same stamp.  I absolutely love the shabby ribbon look it created!!

To create these pretty vellum butterfly embellies, I stamped the Butterfly Specimens stamp with Memento Luxe ink in Tuxedo Black and then embossed it with Ultra High Gloss Embossing Powder.  A little more of the Rose Bud and Dandelion ink applied on the back with a Sponge Dauber, and they were ready to stick down!

The chippies were also embossed after I colored them up with the Delicata Golden Glitz ink.  While trying to heat them up, a couple of the letters flipped over and a bit of the embossing powder came off.  It created this really fun texture---so I went with it!

I gotta say, I'm super in love with this layout!!  I guess it doesn't hurt that it's rockin' the face of the cutest little girl I know :-)))

Thanks so much for stoppin' by!!

The Hunt.

Hello!!  Today, I wanted to share a little something...

This tiny book was created with a few snapshots I took of my kiddos at the church's annual Easter egg hunt.  I wanted to scrap them in a quick way before they got buried under piles of other things on my 'to do' list.

In lieu of tearing into a new stack of paper, I decided to use up some of those neglected bits of paper in my stash.  This MME paper stack has been used and loved, but really needed a little somethin' extra to get my mojo runnin'.

A bit of rock-solid stamping can make those old papers new again :-)

I've done some Copic coloring around the images to really make them POP.  I really love the effect.

With this being such a small book, I knew that finding space for journaling would be difficult.  My solution??
VELLUM!  It gives me tons of space for my thoughts and covers up none of my fun stamping.

SCORE.

How cool is it that you can see the clouds right through my journaling??  Best of both worlds, I tell ya!

Here's a peek at all the VLVS! goodness I've used...

I gotta say, I'm totally diggin' this mini mini!!

Supplies Used:

My Minds Eye 'Be Amazing' 6 inch paper, Copic Markers, UmWowStudio Chevron Confetti chipboard, thread, American Crafts black jute, craft sequins, vellum

Ok guys, that is that.  If you want to know more about how this book was put together, hop on over to the VLVS! blog and read all about it!!

Thanks so much for stoppin' by and I'll see ya next time ;-)

Pure Imagination.

Hello!!  Today, I've got a CAS card for you.

If you're new to coloring (or a seasoned coloring artist!), I gotta tell ya, VLVS has some amazing images that'll make it super easy to whip up a quick card or project.  Most images are detailed with a ton of shading already included, so coloring them up is simple to do!

I adore this Unicorn image.

For my embellishments, I've just inked up the 'pure' in the Pure Imagination sentiment, and stamped repeatedly.  A bit of Lindy's Stamp Gang mist splatter and a few chippies from UmWowStudio and image was ready to layer onto a card base.

I've also inked up the Pure Imagination stamp to add a quick sentiment on the inside.

Ok, guys---that's it for me.  Now, go grab your favorite VLVS and get your color on!!

LSG & 7 Dots Studio Creative Hop

Welcome to LSG & 7 Dots Studio Creative hop!

We are so excited to have two amazing companies team up for a full day of creativity.  This hop will surely get your creative juices flowing so head on over to all these incredibly talented crafters to check out how they've combined the beautiful lines by 7 Dots Studio with Lindy's Stamp Gang products---it's a match made in color heaven!

We have a little surprise for you!

We would love for you to show some love to all our crafters and leave them a little message. You will have the opportunity to win a fabulous prize by both 7 Dots Studio and Lindy's Stamp Gang so please let us know that you have done so by coming back to 7 Dots Studio and Lindy's Stamp Gang blog at the end of the hop.

At the bottom of my post is a full list if you get lost along the way.

Here's what I've come up with...

This sweet little shaker box ornament is packed FULL of LSG and 7 Dots Studio LOVE!!  And snow.  'Cuz what's a shaker box without a bit of snow?

I chose to use a neutral paper with just a few pops of Lindy's vibrant color and sparkle for the inside.  DIG the color and glitter on that bottle brush tree!

And here's the back...

Lovin' all those layers!

7 Dots Studio paper is rockin' some of the best texture around.  Add to that  a touch of Lindy's Starburst sprays and stitching??

Divine!!

I'm a big fan of soldering, but wanted to find a way to create the look of a soldered piece that even my non-soldering crafty friends could manage.

Enter washi tape!

A bit of lightweight acrylic, washi tape and some GLITTER later and I had myself a hand-crafted ornament that would make any soldering gun jealous ;-)

Here's a list of product I've used:

Aaaaannnd, here's a list of all the stops along our hop:

Ok Folks, that's it for me!  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Now, get back to HOPPIN'!!

 Have FUN!!!

Sparkle.

Hello, TGF Fans!!

Welcome to my little stop on The Greeting Farm's 'Cyber-Monday Celebration Hop', featuring US---The Greeting Farm customers :-)

I'm so super excited to be playing along with a handful of other TGF lovers!!

http://splendidstamping.blogspot.com/

We've each spent time in our crafty spaces creating with some of our favorite TGF products, and today we get to share those creations with you in an EPIC Holiday Hop!!

Here's what I've come up with...

This sweet little tag was inspired by the word 'sparkle' on the My Favorite Thing set from the Oliver & Amelia range.

You may have noticed that I've done a little body swapping to create my very own mix of TGF characters for this tag---Amelia's body and Twinkle Bean's head.  I LOVE how she turned out!!

Sparkle indeed.

Here's a peek at the back of the tag...

Aaaaaannnnddd, here's a peek at 'Amelia Bean' herself...HA!!

For this tag, I've used the sketch from the December Challenge over at UmWowStudio as inspiration.  YES!!  I've actually used a sketch.  I've never been very successful at using sketches, but I think this one worked!

Here's a peek at the sketch, and how I've translated it into inspiration for my tag...

http://umwowstudio.blogspot.com/2013/12/december-challenge-sketch.html

#1 - Clip!  Even tho' the sketch is showing a paperclip, I think this mini clothespin works.
#2 - Horizontal strips of patterned paper, with a focal image/photo (in this case, a colored image).
#3 - Splatter!!  'Nuff said.
#4 - A sprinkling of stars.  DREAMY!
#5 - A circle element.  Instead of flair, I went with doodled circles.
#6 - A strip of vertical paper along the edge.
#7 - Polka dot paper.

Here's a quick list of products I've used:
My Favorite Things stamp set (RETIRED) & Twinkle Bean stamp (RETIRED)  - The Greeting Farm
Vintage Christmas 6x6 inch paper pad
Star Confetti & Circle Confetti Mask  - UmWowStudio
Caribbean Blue Flat Fabio & Danny Zuko's Denim Flat Fabio - Lindy's Stamp Gang

And finally, if you're TOTALLY diggin' the wrapping on the gift in the first couple photos above, here's a little tut on how to up-cycle yourself a little Holiday Garland LOVE.

Alrighty Folks, that's it for me!!  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Now, get to hoppin' and then go get your SHOP ON!!
